Turning rental websites into complete quote requests
How FJAN IT built Formix, a quote-request configurator on top of Rentman that cut handling time per request at Janssen Partyverhuur from 45 to 15 minutes.
The challenge: requests that need a second round
Party and event rental companies run their stock, planning and quotes in Rentman. Their websites rarely keep up. Customers can browse products, but have to work out for themselves what fits their party. Requests arrive by email or phone, often incomplete, and someone has to chase the missing details and retype everything before a quote can go out.
The solution: a configurator that speaks Rentman
FJAN IT designed and built Formix, a SaaS product that puts a rental company's Rentman catalogue on its own website. Customers can take two routes, and both end in the same complete request:
- Guided party calculator: the customer answers questions about guests, setup and location. Formix turns the answers into matching products and quantities, with an indicative price.
- Catalogue and quote cart: customers who already know what they need build their own request from the live product range.
- Rentman integration: requests reach the rental team with products and quantities filled in, and upsell rules suggest relevant extras along the way.
- Fits the existing website: a WordPress Elementor plugin or an API, or a fully hosted webshop, with AI-generated, SEO-friendly product descriptions.
The rental team stays in control. The customer sees a price indication straight away, and the team checks terrain, transport and availability before the final quote goes out.
The result: two-thirds less time per request
Janssen Partyverhuur, run by Formix co-founder Stijn Janssen, was the first rental company to go live. Because requests now arrive complete, each one takes less work, and more customers finish the process:
- Handling time per request: from 45 to 15 minutes (median).
- Requests per month: from 100 to 250.
- Party calculator completion: from 15% to 30%.
- Average request value: up 20%.
The time saved goes back into the work that needs a person: checking the location and getting the event right.
