Babygram privacy policy

Babygram is a self-hosted family photo-sharing application. This policy explains how the Babygram mobile app handles information.
The server you choose
Babygram does not operate a central account, analytics, advertising, or photo-hosting service. The mobile app connects to the Babygram server address that you enter. The person or organization operating that server controls the accounts and content stored there and is responsible for its operation and privacy practices.
Information handled by the app
The app sends the following information to your chosen Babygram server as needed to provide its features:
- Account information, including email address and display name
- Authentication credentials and tokens
- Photos, captions, comments, and reactions that you choose to share
- Basic technical request information normally received by a web server, such as IP address and request timestamps
Authentication tokens are stored using the operating system's secure storage. Photos are kept in memory while displayed and are not intentionally written to the app's on-device disk cache.
Photos and device permissions
Camera and photo-library access are used only when you choose to select or take a photo for upload. Babygram strips image metadata, including GPS location, while processing uploads on the server.
Sharing and retention
Content is shared only with authenticated members of the selected Babygram server according to the roles assigned by its administrator. The server operator controls retention, backups, account management, and deletion. Contact that operator to request access to or deletion of your account and content.
Third-party services
The app does not include advertising or analytics SDKs. It may retrieve font assets supplied through Google Fonts; that request can disclose ordinary network information, such as an IP address, to the font provider.
Security
Babygram uses authenticated requests and is intended to be used with HTTPS. No system can guarantee absolute security. Server operators are responsible for securing, updating, and backing up their deployment.
Children
Babygram is intended for use by invited family members and is not directed to children as account holders. Photos may depict children, so server operators and members should share content only with people they trust and obtain any permissions required by applicable law.
Changes
This policy may be updated as Babygram changes. The revision date above identifies the latest version.
