1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how FJAN IT ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the Checklist Extension for Azure DevOps (the "Software").
This policy applies to your use of the Software, including the free tier, premium subscription features, checkout and license-management flows, and related support interactions.
2. Information We Process
2.1 Data Stored in Your Azure DevOps Environment
The Software is designed to store checklist-related content primarily within your Azure DevOps environment, including:
- Checklist templates that you create and manage
- Checklist item content and completion state
- Work item field mappings and configuration
- Project, team, and work-item-type selections used by the Software
2.2 Licensing and Subscription Data
To support premium licensing, we or our service providers may process limited information such as:
- Your Azure DevOps organization name or identifier
- Subscription and entitlement status for that organization
- Billing term or plan selection
- License-management and account-access events
2.3 Account, Purchase, and Support Data
If you purchase a premium subscription, manage a license, or contact support, we or our service providers may process:
- Name, email address, and other contact details you provide
- Billing and transaction information
- Support requests and related correspondence
- Technical and diagnostic information reasonably necessary to troubleshoot issues
2.4 Usage and Diagnostic Data
We may process limited usage, operational, and diagnostic information necessary to secure, operate, maintain, and improve the Software and related licensing services.
3. How We Use Information
We use information covered by this policy to:
- Provide checklist template and checklist functionality within Azure DevOps
- Store and retrieve configuration associated with your use of the Software
- Validate premium subscription status for an Azure DevOps organization
- Provide checkout, account, billing, and license-management functionality
- Respond to support requests and troubleshoot reported issues
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and enforce feature or subscription limits
- Improve the performance, reliability, and usability of the Software and related services
4. Data Storage and Processing
Checklist content and template data are primarily stored within your Azure DevOps environment.
However, unlike earlier versions of the Software, certain limited data may be transmitted to external services operated by FJAN IT or our service providers for purposes such as:
- Premium subscription validation
- Checkout and billing
- License management
- Support and diagnostics
We do not use the Software to routinely copy checklist content out of your Azure DevOps environment. If checklist content is shared with us, that will generally occur only when you intentionally provide it for support, troubleshooting, or another requested service.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your checklist content or personal information.
We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate the Software and related services, including:
- Hosting and infrastructure providers
- Billing and payment service providers
- Authentication, account-management, or customer-support providers
- Professional advisers or authorities where required by law
These parties may only process information as needed to provide services to us, comply with law, or protect our rights.
6. Legal Basis and Compliance
Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis, we generally process information:
- To perform our contract with you
- To comply with legal obligations
- For our legitimate interests in operating, securing, supporting, and improving the Software and related services
- Based on your consent where consent is required
7. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to:
- Provide the Software and premium subscription services
- Maintain billing and accounting records
- Resolve disputes
- Enforce agreements
- Comply with legal obligations
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data and the reason it was collected.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information under our control. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Software also relies on Azure DevOps and other third-party services, each of which maintains its own security controls and privacy practices.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information.
You may also:
- Manage or delete checklist data within Azure DevOps
- Cancel premium subscription renewal through the applicable billing or account flow
- Contact us with privacy-related questions or requests
10. Third-Party Services
The Software operates within Azure DevOps and may interact with third-party services for hosting, billing, account management, and support. Those third parties may have their own terms and privacy notices, and we encourage you to review them.
11. Children's Privacy
The Software is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Software.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
13. Contact Information
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please contact FJAN IT through the Azure DevOps Marketplace or the contact information made available on our website.
